It was encouraging to see in today’s Metro, the case of little Grace Freeman.
It was thanks to her mothers friend, nurse Nicola Sharp that her retinoblastoma was spotted before it was too late. She noticed that the two year olds pupils shone white in a Facebook photo rather than red, a key symptom of this disease. It was later revealed that the toddler had two tumours causing her left eye to become blind, but thankfully any worsening of the condition was prevented. Hopefully this story will raise awareness of this retinoblastoma, which if undetected can prove fatal.
